Working overseas can, at times, be more difficult but more appealing. Many believe that opportunities increase when you work abroad. Hence many skilled workers often choose to relocate and work in foreign countries.
The United States is amongst the countries many dream of relocating to. It has various immigration plans and options for said dreamers.
The EB-3 Visa is an employment-based immigration visa offered to skilled workers. The visa outlines 3 types of labor, professionals, skilled workers, and unskilled/ other workers. Professionals. It defines a skilled worker to be an individual whose job requires a minimum of 2 years of training or experience. Therefore one’s occupation can not be of temporary or seasonal nature. Examples of skilled workers include graphic designers, computer programmers or scientists, etc. Moreover, professionals are lawyers, architects, engineers, etc. basically, anyone who is a member of a profession and that profession must require at least a U.S. baccalaureate or foreign equivalent degree. Lastly, ‘other workers’ are the final subcategory, and they are outlined as unskilled labor, requiring less than two years of training or experience. Their occupations should also not be seasonal or temporary. Examples of occupations said workers might occupy are janitors, caretakers, nannies, etc.
At first glance, if the above sub-categories describe the nature of your occupation, then you are eligible to apply for the EB-3 visa. Begin by filing the respective form for the visa type, and once approved, your immigration process begins.
